****DO NOT PURCHASE UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE PURCHASED AND RECEIVED A GLASS GALLON JAR****
This is to reserve one gallon of raw “for pet consumption only” milk IN A GLASS JAR FOR RETURN PURPOSE ONLY.
Rules to follow for Glass Jar Pickup:
- Jar Deposit MUST be paid in order to pick up your milk in the glass jar. You do not have to pay through the website. You can choose to “pay in person” to purchase with Venmo or Cash. This is a one time fee per gallon of milk. If you are picking up multiple gallons in glass jars, you will have to pay a separate jar fee per jar.
- Jars MUST be returned clean! If you return your jar dirty, it will be filled dirty.
- Once you purchase your jar, your name will then go on the jar so that it remains with you as yours.
- When jars are returned there will be no extra fee and milk will be regular price going forward as long as jars are continued to be returned.
- If you forget to return your jar you will either have to pay another jar fee or opt to pick your milk up in a plastic jug.
How to pay:
The milk is set up on an honor system so you can pay when you come to pick up but also have the option to pay with a card through this website ($8+3%). If paying with Venmo, please select pay at pickup option at checkout.
Where is the milk:
The milk barn is located to the right (East) of the driveway when you pull in. Walking into the large main opening of the barn, the fridge is located on the left (North) side of the barn.
If you did not pay with a card through the website, there is a cow cookie jar located on the shelf below the milk INSIDE of the fridge where you can put your payment. There is usually $1s inside the cookie jar to make change. If you are paying with Venmo, there is a code to scan on the OUTSIDE of the door.
Other common questions:
What do your cows eat?: Our cows are out on pasture all day long but are given a grain supplement when they come in to get milked. In the winter they are also supplemented with hay.
Are your cows A2/A2? All of our cows are at least a Jersey Mix so they are either A2/A2 or at least A1/A2. They have not been tested for the gene so I can not guarantee.
Do you vaccinate your cows?: Our cows are never vaccinated OTHER THAN for a disease called Black Leg which is very deadly and we have personally had to deal with in the past. This is a one time treatment given at birth. They also receive a treatment for parasites 1-2 times a year. If for whatever reason a cow gets sick and is in need of an antibiotic, they get pulled from milking until the following calving season.
Do I have to bring my own jar? No. All milk is bottled in one gallon containers. We now offer a glass jar option.
Do you sell the cream separately? At the moment no. The milk however is left cream topped so you are able to skim the cream if you wish.
As always, if you have any questions or get confused you can give me a call or text at (251) 233-1411.
