A half pig will have a hanging weight (not live weight) of approximately +/-100 lbs. Half of a pig should yield approximately 80-100 pounds of typical cuts of pork.
A deposit of $200 is required to reserve a half pig. Deposits can be refunded but are at the discretion of Bartl Homestead. We charge $4.50 per pound hanging weight with the butcher fee included. The remaining balance is required to be fulfilled upon delivery and will be determined when the cuts are picked up from the butcher.
Once a deposit is received, a copy of our cut sheet will be emailed for you to look over and begin choosing you preferred cuts. Before the pig is taken to the butcher we will personally call you to go over the cut sheet to make sure you are comfortable with your cut choices.
